Terms of Service

By visiting this website, accessible from https://crownicles.com/ or by playing Crownicles, you accept these General Terms of Use and agree to comply with all applicable local laws. If you disagree with these terms, access to the site or game is prohibited.

The Crownicles project is a role-playing game currently accessible via a Discord bot, and soon via iOS and Android mobile applications. The materials on the site are protected by copyright and trademark laws.

Definitions

In this document, the terms "Crownicles", "the game" or "the service" refer to all services offered by our project, including the website, the Discord bot, and any mobile applications. The term "user" refers to any person accessing these services.

License

The Crownicles project is open source and published under the AGPL license. All code repositories are available on our GitHub page: https://github.com/crownicles. In case of service shutdown by the current team, anyone is free to create their own instance of the game from the source code.

Disclaimer

Crownicles services are provided "as is". Crownicles gives no warranty, express or implied, and does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of the content provided. Use of the services is at your own risk.

Limitations

Under no circumstances can Crownicles or its collaborators be held responsible for direct or indirect damages related to the use or inability to use the site or game, even if we have been informed of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow this type of limitation of liability, which means it may not apply to you.

Service Usage

The use of Crownicles is authorized for any person respecting the minimum age required by Discord (13 years or older depending on regions), and is carried out in compliance with the rules established by the moderation team.

Any harmful or prohibited activity is strictly prohibited, including:

  • Harassment, insults, or discriminatory remarks towards other users;
  • Spam, cheating, or any behavior aimed at harming the gaming experience;
  • Attempting technical exploitation of the game or its features.

We reserve the right to ban any user from the game or community server, temporarily or permanently, in case of non-compliance with the rules.

Service Interruption or Shutdown

Crownicles reserves the right to modify, suspend, or stop all or part of its services at any time, without notice or compensation. Being an open source project under AGPL license, anyone is free to fork and relaunch the game on their own instance, whether the official service is active or not.

Revisions and Errata

The information on the site may contain technical or typographical errors. We do not guarantee that the content is accurate, complete or up to date. Crownicles may modify this content at any time, without obligation for continuous updates.

Crownicles has not reviewed all third-party sites pointing to its pages and disclaims any responsibility regarding their content. The existence of a link does not mean our support. Access to these external sites is at the user's risk.

Modification of Terms of Service

Crownicles may modify these terms of service at any time, without notice. By continuing to use the services, you automatically accept the latest version in effect. In case of divergence between the French version and a translation, the French version prevails.

Privacy and Data Collection

The Crownicles website does not collect any personal data.

The game itself only collects the following data for strictly technical, balancing, or debugging reasons:

  • Discord username
  • Discord identifier (ID)
  • In-game action history

No personal data (email, message content, etc.) is collected or stored. We respect your privacy.
