Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. It is Crownicles's policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you, including across our website, https://crownicles.com, the Discord bot, and the Crownicles mobile application.
This policy is effective as of October 4, 2022, and was last updated on September 22, 2026, to cover the mobile application and the ability to create an account without Discord.
Information We Collect
Information we collect includes both information you knowingly and actively provide us when using or participating in any of our services and promotions, and any information automatically sent by your devices in the course of accessing our services.
What we collect depends on how you play.
If you play through Discord, we collect your Discord ID, your Discord username, and your game data, to link your progress to your account and to operate the game.
If you create an account from the mobile application, we also collect your email address, your username, and a password. The address is used to verify your registration and to let you reset your password. The password is never stored in plain text: we only keep a cryptographic hash, which nobody can read back, ourselves included.
If you sign in to the application with Discord, Discord sends us your ID, your display name, and your email address.
The application also keeps the tokens that keep you signed in on your phone, inside the secure storage provided by your operating system. They never leave your device and are removed when you sign out.
Why We Are Allowed to Process Your Data
Performing the service you asked for. Your account, your progress, and your interactions with other players cannot exist without this data. This covers your identifier, your username, your email address, and your game data.
Our legitimate interest in keeping the service running, balancing it, and protecting it from abuse. This covers technical logs and game statistics.
A legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or disclose certain information.
Log Data
We collect log data for security, maintenance, and game balancing purposes. This data concerns all of your interactions with Crownicles, including your Discord username, your Discord ID, and your game action history.
Game statistics (such as score evolution, level progression, money, and experience) are also used for statistical analysis and game balancing to improve gameplay over time.
When you visit our website, we may collect information automatically sent by your machine such as your IP address. This data is only used for statistics and maintenance purposes. This data is automatically anonymized and deleted as soon as possible.
Collection and Use of Information
We may also collect personal information when you interact with us through our social media or by email.
Security of Your Personal Information
When we collect and process personal information, and while we retain this information, we will protect it within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
Although we will do our best to protect the personal information you provide to us, we advise that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and no one can guarantee absolute data security. We will comply with laws applicable to us in respect of any data breach.
You are responsible for selecting any password and its overall security strength, ensuring the security of your own information within the bounds of our services.
How Long We Keep Your Personal Information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need to. This time period may depend on what we are using your information for, in accordance with this privacy policy. If your personal information is no longer required, we will delete it or make it anonymous by removing all details that identify you.
However, if necessary, we may retain your personal information for our compliance with a legal, accounting, or reporting obligation or for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific, or historical research purposes or statistical purposes.
Deleting Your Account
You may delete your account at any time from the app settings. If the app is not installed, deletion may be requested at the address given below: a personal code is then given to you, which you confirm yourself with the bot, as we cannot erase an account on your behalf without that confirmation.

The operation anonymises your account. Your identifier, email address, username, and password are erased, and nothing remains that links the save to you as a person.
The resulting anonymised game data is kept for balancing purposes, under the conditions described above. The operation is immediate and irreversible: your progress cannot be restored.
Children's Privacy
Crownicles is not aimed at young children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about them.
In France, a minor under the age of fifteen needs a parent's consent for an online service to process their data. That age ranges from thirteen to sixteen across European Union countries.
If you are a parent and believe your child has given us information, please write to us and we will delete the account.
Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We only collect data that is strictly necessary for the game to function. We do not sell it and never pass it on for commercial or advertising purposes.
Running the service does, however, require a few providers, which only access what they strictly need:
- Brevo, a French company, which delivers the address verification and password reset emails. It only receives your email address.
- Discord, if you play through Discord or choose to sign in with it. Your use of Discord is then also governed by that company's privacy policy.
We may also disclose personal information to:
- Members of the technical teams or active developers to facilitate their contribution.
- courts, tribunals, regulatory authorities, and law enforcement officers, as required by law, in connection with any actual or prospective legal proceedings, or in order to establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights
International Transfers of Personal Information
The servers hosting the game, your accounts, and your progress are located within the European Union, as is Brevo, which delivers our emails.
Your Rights and Controlling Your Personal Information
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: You can request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure: You can request the deletion of your personal data.
- Right to data portability: You can request an export of your personal data in a machine-readable format.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights over your personal information. If you do provide us with personal information you understand that we will collect, hold, use and disclose it in accordance with this privacy policy.
If you believe that we have breached a relevant data protection law and wish to make a complaint, please contact us using the details below and provide us with full details of the alleged breach. We will promptly investigate your complaint and respond to you, in writing, setting out the outcome of our investigation and the steps we will take to deal with your complaint. You also have the right to contact a regulatory body or data protection authority in relation to your complaint.
Limits of Our Policy
Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and policies of those sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy practices. If there are differences between this privacy policy and the french version available by following this link, the french version will be the one that prevails.
Changes to This Policy
At our discretion, we may change our privacy policy to reflect updates to our business processes, current acceptable practices, or legislative or regulatory changes. If we decide to change this privacy policy, we will post the changes here at the same link by which you are accessing this privacy policy.
If required by law, we will get your permission or give you the opportunity to opt in to or opt out of, as applicable, any new uses of your personal information.
